The village of San Juan de los Terreros is fifteen minutes stroll away down the hill and about twenty minutes stroll back again, although the uphill gradient is not steep. The village has a choice of excellent restaurants, supermarket and shops and beaches. Market day is Sunday in high season.
From the village plaza a new promenade with beach bars runs the entire length of the beach (some 2 kilometers) up to the Hotel Calypso. The beach is clean and provides safe bathing.
